Grade 8 Information

Here are some of the programs currently offered at T.A.Blakelock High School. More information about the transition from grade 8 to these programs will be given by the individual elementary schools and also at the grade 8 parent information night on November 16th.

Transition Timeline

October - November

• Grade 9 transition information shared with students and families through your elementary school 

• Information sessions/evenings hosted by secondary schools. Dates will be posted on secondary school websites, the HDSB website (hdsb.ca) on the Transitioning to High School/Grade 9 page and shared through your elementary school.

• Regional Program information sessions are hosted in-person by regional sites for:

  • I-STEM - Thursday, Oct. 26: To begin at 6:30 p.m.

*note that applications for both the IB and I-STEM programs for the 2024-2025 school year will open on Friday, Oct. 27 and close on Dec. 4 at 11:59 p.m.

• Community Pathways Program (CPP) Information Evening - Virtual information sessions will be offered on the following dates and times: 

  • Monday, Nov. 6, 7 p.m.: Livestream link

December - January

• Grade 9 course selection occurs through myBlueprint

Spring/Summer

• Secondary school orientation activities for incoming Grade 9 students (stay tuned for more information in the new year).
