Johannes Linstead

While at Blakelock, Johannes played bass in music class and was a member of the Jazz Band. In 1988, he was Blakelock's Jazz Player of the Year. He was also a member of the chess club.

In 1994 Johannes switched from rock music to flamenco guitar. Johannes began travelling and developing his own style influenced by places like the Caribbean. Johannes has now released five CD's with the last three reaching Billboard Top Ten. His third CD was selected "Best Contemporary Album". His fifth CD, "Mediterrania", was named "Best World Album". In 2004 and 2005, Johannes was nominated for "Guitarist of the Year" in the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards.

He currently owns and manages his own recording studio and record company in Oakville.
