  • Attention Book Club Members! The meeting scheduled for today during lunch has been cancelled. A new date will be announced soon. So stay tuned!

  • Hey Blakelock! Next week the large gym will be opening at lunch for a rotation of different sports and games each week. You must have your participation forms signed online (they are the same ones you needed for Terry Fox Walk), and change into athletic clothes. Grades 9 and 10, you get to come Monday at 11:30, Grades 11 and 12, you get to come Wednesday at 11:30. All week all grades have a chance to sign up for a team and play in a competition on Friday organized by the athletic council and the leadership class. So come on out and be active at lunch! Next week’s game is basketball!!! All skill levels are welcome.

Hey Tab, Fashion Friday has been pushed forward a day, this week we’re celebrating it as a Throwback Thursday! So this Thursday, feel thrifty looking nifty, in your funky and fresh clothes from another decade! Dress up in your fit, and meet Student Council execs at the T, near the front office, at the start of lunch to enter the draw for a chance to win a Tims Gift Card.


There will be a short Athletic Council Meeting today in W108 at 10:55 to sign up for scorekeeping. Otherwise we will need people to help at the club fair to represent certain sports teams and athletic council.


Our girls field hockey team had a great 3-0 win yesterday at the first game of the season!

Thank you to all the students and staff who donated to the Legacy of Hope Foundation. We raised $464.00 towards this worthy cause. A huge thank you to all the library volunteers who helped make this happen.


Wellness Wednesday is back in the Library Learning Commons! For our first activity of the school year we'll be painting pumpkins this Wednesday in the Seminar room. See Mrs. MacKay to sign-up to paint a pumpkin. Supplies are limited so it will be first come, first serve.

Student Council is hosting a school wide Club Fair this Tuesday (October 5) and Thursday (October 7). Everyone is welcome to join, and there will be a wide variety of clubs looking for participants. Come down to the large gym during lunch at 11:30AM. Any clubs, teams or activities looking to have a table at the Club Fair, please talk to Ms. McAllan ASAP!

If you are interested in joining the TAB Woodworking Club, please pickup a club permission form from Mr. LeBlanc in room 114 south, during the lunch break or immediately after school..

Today is the first Nationally recognized Day for Truth and Reconciliation. I ask that you please take this time to reflect and acknowledge what you are grateful for from this land when you watch the video that Mrs. Woodhead’s grade 12 leadership class put together. We ask that all period 1 teachers show this video after this morning announcements. The video is in the TAB group for teachers.

Orange Shirt Day began in 2013 after Phyllis Webstad shared her story at a reunion held in Williams Lake, B.C to commemorate victims and survivors of the Residential School. Since then and following the publishing of the Truth and Reconciliation report in 2014, awareness of the horrors and impacts of residentials schools continues to grow across Canada. Today we honour the evolution of Orange Shirt Day into a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. At 11:30 Phyllis Webstad will LIVE STREAM a presentation entitled “BEYOND ORANGE SHIRT DAY” to the nation in the library Learning Commons. Seating is limited to 80. You are also welcome to join in on the Blanket Activity in the gym today. Sign up at the door, beginning of lunch.

WELLNESS CLUB will have orange fabric pins for all who want to show their support. Come visit us at the “T” at the start of lunch.

Terry Fox run will be this friday, October 1st. Make sure you have signed your forms allowing you to exit the school premises.


Of course, let's not forget to bring a toonie to your morning teacher in support of reaching our donation goal of $2000!


Barbecue and Pizza will be available during the lunch period, so be sure to bring extra money for some food after our walk. You can also purchase this in advance on school cash online.

This week is National Truth and Reconciliation Week. To help raise awareness of the Residential School System in Canada, we will be making a donation to the Legacy of Hope Foundation. Beginning Monday and for the remainder of the week during lunch time, we will be selling Orange ribbons for a toonie. The orange ribbons will be sold in the Library Learning Commons and in the T-area.

A big thank you to all students who participated in the FEDERAL ELECTION STUDENT VOTE initiative yesterday. YOU chose the NDP and Jagmeet Singh to lead the Official Opposition. Full results will be available later today on the announcements slideshow in Brightspace and on the school website.

Library Volunteers first meeting today in the Library Learning Commons immediately after school.


Today in the Upper West hall during lunch come VOTE in the federal election.


There will be a cross country practice starting at 2:50 outside the west doors.


Junior boys volleyball players trying out for the team. Tryouts continue on Tuesday at lunch for grade 9’s at 11:00-11:30 and grade 10's at 11:30-12:00 in the small gym. There will be a first cut for the team at that time. Practice resumes on Thursday afterschool in the small gym from 2:50-4:30.
