National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, also known informally as White Ribbon Day, is a day commemorated in Canada each December 6, It marks the anniversary of the 1989 École Polytechnique massacre, in which armed student Marc Lépine murdered fourteen women and injured ten others. World Council would like to honour this day by asking all Blakelock staff and students to donate gently used clothing to Safetynet a local charity that helps families in our Oakville community. There will be a box in the main office where you can drop off the clothing for the next two weeks. Please consider donating to this worthy cause.
