Freedom to Read Week This week is Freedom to Read Week.  “Freedom to Read Week is an annual event that encourages Canadians to think about and reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom, which is guaranteed them under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.”  Here is just a few books that have been banned or challenged over the years:  Looking for Alaska, Eleanor & Park, Color Purple, Ender’s Game and The Kite Runner.  Come to the library and check out the Banned Book display or go to  http://www.freedomtoread.ca  for further information.
