National Day of Remembrance & Action on Violence Against Women - World Council 29 Years ago 14 women were shot at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal just because they were WOMEN!!! This is a sad and sobering thought -that people are killed just because of their gender. To honour the victims of this terrible crime and all women who suffer from violence and abuse, Canada has the National Day of Remembrance  and Action on Violence against Women. For 10 years now, World Council has been honouring the victims of this violence by holding a clothing drive. We would like to ask all members of the Blakelock community to bring in gently used clothing and drop it off in the World Council box in the front office.  All the donations go to Clothesline, a local charity that serves families right here in the Blakelock community. We will be collecting clothing donations until December 10th. If you are interested in joining the World council team, you are welcome to attend our next meeting or speak to Mrs. Donatelli
