E-wareness Contest-Library Exercise your research skills by entering the E-wareness Contest ..there are amazing prizes to be won!   Answer three online questions using the Information Databases and you will be eligible to win a prize. Come to the library for details. National Book Award - University of Toronto Grade 12 students who are thinking about applying to the University of Toronto may want to apply for the National Book Award.  Blakelock can nominate 1 person for this award and the winner of the award is automatically considered for the U. of T. National Scholarship.  Submit a 300 word paragraph to your guidance counsellor before Oct. 22. Information about the award is posted in the hallway outside the Guidance office.

University of Toronto's National Scholarship Program Students who want to apply to U. of T.’s National Scholarship Program should do so directly online.  Visit the U. of T. website to get more information University of Waterloo A rep from the University of Waterloo will visit TAB during period 3 on Friday, Oct. 19th.  Drop by to visit with them and ask about their programs. Senior Wellness Drop-In Lunch Every Friday in Room S118 at 11:00 am there is a Senior Wellness drop-in lunch. It is a place to come and vent and hang out with like-minded people. Bring your lunch and wear your plaid or PJ bottoms. New members are always welcome. Flannel Fridays Don’t forget to wear your comfy PJ pants or Plaid for forever Flannel Fridays! This Friday and every Friday at Blakelock.

Wellness Chill Room Hey Juniors!  Now that the air is getting chilly and going outside is not as relaxing, are you looking for a place to CHILL OUT??  The Wellness CHILL ROOM is open again this year during junior lunch on Fridays in W207. Come on up to a quiet space, to play a game, listen to music, colour a mandela, do origami, paint or even play darts.  If you’re looking for an inclusive space, W207 Fridays is the place for you in period 4! Waste Reduction Week It doesn’t have to be spring to clean out your closet!  This week is Waste Reduction Week and you can bring in all your old textiles to the front door of the school to be recycled.  Drop off old clothes, towels, sheets, blanks hats mittens, scarves even backpacks at the front foyer between 7:50 and 8:15 am.  This is an initiative between the Recycling Council of Ontario and Value Village. If those old jeans don’t spark joy any more, donate them!  # I Give A ShIrt.  Wellness Quote And the Wellness Quote of the Day is: Our bodies are our gardens – our wills are our gardeners. – William Shakespeare

Attention all Junior Wellness members!  This is a reminder of our meeting TODAY during period 4  in our new location … WEST 207.  New members are ALWAYS welcomed to join us. See you for Wellness today in junior lunch in W207!! Who’s got their stripes, black, green, white or TAB Spirit wear on today? 
Senior boys RUGBY PLAYERS; meeting FRIDAY period 3 in the health room.  Be there or find Mr Jokic during the day. October is Pink month.  Today we will be hosting our “pink” games in the large gym with our boys volleyball team.  Please consider making a donation for breast cancer awareness month and visit the bake sale today during lunches and after school. Wear a pink ribbon and show your Tiger spirit by cheering on your home teams to victory!  Go Tigers!

A rep from Humber College will be visiting TAB today.  Drop by the cafeteria to visit with them.  Humber College has some amazing programs that lead to Diplomas and Degrees. Attention all Mathletes!  Today is the day!  The first Math League Math Contest will be taking place today during lunch.  The senior contest will start at 11:30 in E204 and the junior contest will start at 12:45 in E203.   Please bring a pencil and a calculator.  See you there! There will be a Senior Wellness Meeting in S118 today at 11:00 a.m. Please bring your lunch and a friend! New members are always welcome.

Attention all Tiger Crew Leaders: this is a reminder that there will be a meeting TODAY during period 3 in E221 regarding this week’s grade nine Student Engagement activity. It is important that all group leaders be in attendance.
